Our Job Share: We have been working together for 9 years. Mrs. Morissey teaches 4 days a week and Ms. Subcleff teaches Mondays. Ms. Subcleff does, however, substitute for Mrs. Morissey whenever she needs to take a day off and oftens pops her head in to say hi when around the building.
Both of us teach reading, writing, and math. Mrs. Morissey teaches Science while Ms. Subcleff teaches Social Studies and Art.
One of the reasons we love job sharing, is that we get to work together to discuss how to best meet the needs of each of our students. We both think teaching is a rewarding career and are so happy to get to continue teaching while raising our families.
More About Mrs. Morissey:
I have been teaching in the Lake Washington School District since 1990.
While working in the district, I have taught Kindergarten, Second and now First Grade . I love working with Primary students!
I feel fortunate to have taught both Kindergarten and Second grade, as it has given me the opportunity to experience the educational foundations and beginning bench marks of students as they enter the educational system, as well as, to have a clear understanding of what students will need to have acquired in order to be successful as Second graders.
I am proud to say that I am a mom too! I have two children. Both have attended Carl Sandburg and Juanita High School. My son, Ryan, is 18 and attends Bellevue College while my daughter, Jessa, is 17 and is a Junior at Juanita High School.
I feel fortunate to have the delightful opportunity to work with enthusiastic children that love learning while soaking up everything around them! I am also fortunate to be working with an amazing job share partner that touches the life of each student and parent that she meets. Ms. Subcleff and I are eager to start the school year and can't wait to meet each of you!

More about Ms. Subcleff: When I was a full-time teacher, I mostly taught 6th grade. Now that I work part-time, I have been loving the younger grades.
I have my Master's in Creative Arts which means we do a lot of art on Mondays. I teach art concepts as well as integrate all the arts (poetry, dance, music, visual arts, drama) into our day.
It is a good idea to dress for mess on Mondays. Your child could even bring an old shirt to put over his/her clothes during art. Everything we use does wash out, but it is good to be prepared.

I am a mom too. I have two boys who go to school in the Northshore School District (where we live). Jackson is in 5th grade and Isaac is in 3rd grade. I also have a little daughter, Eliza, who is 3, and starting preschool this year.
Mrs. Morissey and I have our job share teaching down to a science. We communicate daily about our students, our curriclum, and we support each other to be the best teachers we can be. I've learned so much from her in the 9 years we've worked together. She is truly a fabulous teacher. I look forward to coming to school on Mondays and being with your wonderful first graders.
