- It should reduce paper use - we will use this blog as our monthly newsletter
- No papers to lose! This blog will be up and available for viewing at all times. All items will be saved and can be found in the blog archive
- It should facilitate easy communication between you and both of us
- It will allow you to quickly see some of the exciting things we do in the first grade classroom, with pictures and student words.
How often will this blog be updated?:
- We will update this blog once a month (usually around the first of the month)
- We may add new posts mid-month, if so, we will email you a reminder about updates. You can also subscribe to this blog. If you do this, you will automatically get updates through a reader such as google reader about new blog posts. You can easily subscribe by clicking on the subscribe button on the sidebar. You may also add your email address to the email subscription box and then you will automatically get email updates when we add a new post to our blog.
Blog Archive and Labels: This is a place to look up all the past blog posts. We will also label posts so you can easily search all posts that are about "math" or all posts about "field trips". The blog archive and the labels are found on the side of the blog. These will grow as we add new blog posts.
Security Issues:
This blog is not open to search engines. It is however, not a locked blog that requires a password to view. Therefore, we will not post full names of students on this blog. We will be posting pictures of artwork and classroom projects.
This blog is intended to be a vehicle for communication between parent and teachers. We will have some links listed that your child might enjoy (math game sites, reading sites), but it is not our intention for students to be viewing the blog without parent supervision. At the top of this blog, you will see a bar that says 'view next blog', if that is clicked on, it will take you to a blog that has nothing to do with our blog and could potentially be non-child-friendly blog.
